Nicole Albert

Nicole L. Albert, LPC Counseling Services Child & Adolescent  Services Developmental Disabilities Services

A professional licensed psychotherapist, Nicole brings more than 16 years of experience both in the field and in her private practice. With a concentration on crisis intervention, suicide prevention, grief and loss, sexual abuse and trauma, she works with adolescents, adults and families, both individually and in groups. In addition, Nicole is part of JF&CS’ Health Power Initiative team, working with individuals with developmental disabilities who are at high risk of chronic health problems and secondary disabilities on their diets and lifestyle practices. Nicole earned her master’s degree from the University of Florida in rehabilitation counseling and counselor education. She joined JF&CS in late 2010.
 Lauren Alloy

Lauren graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with bachelor degrees in psychology and sociology. She earned her Master of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In her 25 years of practice, Lauren has worked with children, adolescents and adults in various outpatient settings, most recently in her private practice in Decatur.

In addition to her clinical work, she has a great deal of experience providing clinical supervision to staff and students. Her areas of interest include anxiety, depression and transitions across the life cycle. She enjoys working with clients of all ages from young children to older adults. Lauren joined JF&CS in late 2014.

Sally Anderson

Sally Anderson, MS, LPC Counseling Services

Clinical areas of specialization: addiction treatment and recovery
Sally is a fully licensed professional counselor (LPC) with a concentration in addiction treatment and recovery. She has been doing this since 2007 and has worked with teens and adults to uncover the roots of their disease. With a mix of 12 step and SMART recovery, she helps clients find meaning and purpose in their sobriety. She has a long-term interest in connecting with others and building relationships, and she uses that as frame work for the majority of her work.

After completing both her undergraduate and graduate work at Georgia State University, Sally has worked in both in-patient and out-patient settings. She served as a behavioral therapist at Laurelwood short-term crisis treatment center, helping clients with addiction and concurrent mental disorders. Prior to that, she was director of an intensive outpatient program for substance abuse at Northview Counseling and Recovery. She also has worked with the Forsyth County Accountability Court Systems, running groups and seeing individual clients who were engaged in the DUI and Drug Court programs.

In addition to JF&CS, which she joined in October 2015, Sally is part of a private practice in the John’s Creek area, where she assists clients who are dealing with issues stemming from childhood, multicultural issues, mood disorders and substance abuse and codependency. She is passionate about the work she does and the clients she serves.
Dan Arnold

A licensed clinical social worker, Dan joined JF&CS in 1996. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and earned his Master of Social Work at the University of Maryland. He also completed a certificate program in advanced clinical supervision from Smith College School for Social Work, where he holds the rank of clinical instructor. Dan’s clinical interests include working with children and teens, and their families. He has a specific focus on the issues of boys and men.
Lauralee Bernstein

Lauralee Bernstein, MA Child & Adolescent  Services

Lauralee received her Bachelor of Science in psychology from Tufts University and subsequently worked in Boston as a mental health counselor at an inpatient psychiatric facility. She then received her master’s in counselor education at Saint Louis University. After completing her degree, Lauralee moved back to her home town of Atlanta and worked for The Highlands Program conducting career assessments. She joined the staff at JF&CS in 1995, first working as a career counselor and then as the supervisor of the career counseling and testing team. In 2005, she began working with Child & Adolescent Services - Tools for Families, conducting psychoeducational evaluations with children and adolescents.
Debbie Dooley

Debbi Dooley, MS, LPC, NCC Counseling Services Aviv Older Adult Services

Debbi holds a nursing degree from Georgia State University, a bachelor’s degree in anthropology and sociology from Agnes Scott College and a master’s in professional counseling from Georgia State University. She completed her year-long internship at the Wesley Woods Transitions Senior Program, a partial-hospitalization program for older adults. She joined JF&CS in August 2007. Her functions include facilitating a family caregiver support group, Geriatric Care Management services for older adults and their caregivers, and clinical case management for clients who are in need of additional support services.
Ina Enoch

Ina completed her Education Specialist Degree in school psychology and her Ph.D. in Clinical psychology at Georgia State University. Before coming to JF&CS in January 2009, she worked for the Cobb County School System and was in private practice in Marietta for a number of years. Ina works primarily with children and adolescents and their families. She also enjoys doing school observations and conducting parenting groups.
Betsy Frasier

Betsy Frasier, LCSW Counseling Services

Clinical Social Worker
Clinical areas of specialization: adults, couples, trauma, teens, anxiety, depression
Betsy works primarily with individual adults and couples. She received her graduate degree in social work at the University of Georgia in 1997 after completing an internship at JF&CS. Following that, Betsy worked as a case manager and intake coordinator for clients with psychiatric disorders. After completing a residency in depth oriented psychotherapy and obtaining her clinical license, she joined the counseling team in JF&CS’ Dunwoody office in 2009. She also has a private practice in Decatur.

In her work with clients, Betsy uses the concepts of mindfulness to gain insight about thought patterns and behavior. She credits Carl Jung, Thich Nhat Hanh, Eckhart Tolle and Joseph Campbell as huge sources of influence in her work. She is interested in the area of trauma and is training to work with combat veterans and other military personnel.

With JF&CS since 2007, Elisheva works closely with children, adolescents and families. Her training began at the University of North Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and continued at Boston University, where Elisheva received her Master of Social Work and a certificate in family therapy. She brings with her more than 15 years of experience working with families struggling with mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety and ADHD. Elisheva also enjoys working with children who are struggling with changes in their lives, including divorce, loss and school adjustments.
Jenny Gay

A native of Decatur and graduate of The Paideia School, Jenny received her bachelor’s degree in social work from Warren Wilson College in Asheville, N.C. While there, she completed her undergraduate internship with the Council on Aging of Buncombe County, where her love for working with older adults and family caregivers began.

After graduating from Warren Wilson, Jenny joined Jewish Family Services of Western North Carolina as a case manager and program coordinator for a group respite program for older adults called The Elder Club. After working there for three years, she relocated to New Orleans to obtain her Master of Social Work from Tulane University. Jenny completed the field practicum component of her graduate degree with Hospice Compassus in New Orleans. She joined JF&CS in 2016 as a geriatric care manager.

Judy is a licensed clinical social worker and marriage/family therapist. She has had extensive experience counseling individuals, families and married couples. She was the Adoption Supervisor for Cradle of Love, the adoption program for JF&CS. She attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison and has a bachelor’s degree in social work. Before moving to Atlanta in 1974, Judy worked at a family service agency with birth mothers and adoption in Niagara Falls, N.Y., and then earned her Master of Social Work in 1974 from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Once here, she worked at Georgia Mental Health Institute for several years. She joined JF&CS in February 1980.

Daniel earned his master’s degree in clinical counseling from Johns Hopkins University in Maryland. He worked with children and adolescents struggling with peer relationships, school success, and self-esteem, while interning at the Maryland Counseling Network. He furthered his experience while working in the counseling department at Torah Day School of Atlanta in 2014-15, and there he implemented the B.R.A.V.E. program to address bullying. Daniel joined JF&CS in 2016, and enjoys working with a broader population including adults, couples, and families.

Brittany works as part of the Aviv clinical team, providing community-based counseling services for older adults and their family members. She brings clinical services to her clients’ homes.

Brittany graduated summa cum laude from Portland State University with a Master in Social Work. While there, she focused her studies on community-based intervention. After serving diverse populations with Portland area non-profits, she discovered her passion for working with older adults. Brittany spent four years with LifeWorks NW, a non-profit in Portland, OR, where she worked in its Older Adult Program as a clinician and, subsequently, a clinical supervisor. As part of her role with LifeWorks NW, she supervised a residential treatment program for older adults with severe and persistent mental illness, conducted psychological assessments for residents in various nursing facilities, and worked collaboratively with a county-wide, inter-disciplinary team in an integrated model of care to meet the needs of some of the most vulnerable elders in the community.

Mandy has worked with JF&CS' Aviv Older Adult Services since 2004. Mandy's focus is counseling older adults, primarily in their homes. She also works with the children of older adults and family caregivers. Mandy also provides counseling around palliative care.
Mandy facilitates three monthly caregiver groups in Sandy Springs, Johns Creek and Dunwoody. She works with individuals, couples and families. As a nontraditional student, she attended Georgia State University and obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in sociology in 1998. She then went on get her Master of Social Work from the University of Georgia in 2000.

Helen is a psychotherapist, counseling individual adults and couples. She facilitates Starting Over, a group of men and women who are divorced or separated. Helen formerly lived in Farmington, Conn., where she had two offices, did public speaking and had an award-winning television show, Lifestyles with Helen Kotler, Ph.D. She moved to Atlanta in 2004 and joined JF&CS the same year.
Michelle Lambert

Michelle Lambert earned her Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from Florida International University in Miami and her M.S. in professional counseling from Georgia State University in Atlanta, both of which she graduated with honors. Michelle has worked in private practice for the past 10 years and also at Cobb Community Services Board for the past three years. She has continued in these two positions even after joining JF&CS in February 2012 to serve as an adoption consultant for the Cradle of Love adoption program. In addition to her adoption work, she has started to do some counseling with clients.
Molly Levine

Molly has a bachelor’s degree in social work and women’s studies from Western Carolina University. She earned a Master of Social Work from the University of Georgia with a focus on art therapy and mental health. After a year-long internship at JF&CS, Molly joined the staff in 2008. She currently manages the Caregiver Support Services program in Tools for Aging, where she provides case management and support to family caregivers. She incorporates art therapy and expressive art techniques in her practice. Molly co-leads the Open Art Therapy group for residence at the Jewish Tower.
Wendy_Lipshutz

Wendy has directed Shalom Bayit (Peace in the Home), JF&CS’ domestic violence program, since it began in1993. A pioneer in the field of domestic violence, Shalom Bayit remains the only program in Atlanta to address the issue in the Jewish community. Since it began, the program has expanded to become nonsectarian. Wendy provides individual counseling and support groups for abused women of all faiths and cultures as well as advocacy and educational programs about abuse specifically within the Jewish community.

Wendy has worked in the domestic violence field since 1983. She co-authored a chapter on domestic violence in Jewish Pastoral Care: A Practical Handbook from Traditional & Contemporary Sources, edited by Rabbi Dayle A. Friedman, and has held numerous leader roles in the area of domestic violence. Wendy received her Master of Social Work from the University of Georgia and her Bachelor of Science from Northwestern University.
Ling Olaes

Ling has a passion for the arts and yoga, which she uses to help clients work through challenges and become their best authentic self. In addition to being a certified group fitness instructor, she holds a Master of Arts in art therapy from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago; a yoga therapy certification from the International Association of Yoga Therapists; an associate degree in culinary arts from the Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago; and a Bachelor of Science in journalism from Northwestern University. She uses a combination of expressive activities —including art, movement, poetry, journaling, cooking and music — to create meaningful sessions that are person centered and heart felt.
Ashley Semerenko

Ashley received her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of North Florida and earned her Master of Social Work with a clinical focus from Loyola University in Chicago. She came to JF&CS as an intern in May 2012 and was hired that September as a case manager working with caregivers in Tools for Aging. At the same time, she began counseling children and adults. In July 2013, Ashley moved over to the Ben Massell Dental Clinic, where she manages the Social Services Program and provides counseling services to patients. She continues to provide counseling services through Tools for Life at JF&CS’ Dunwoody and Cobb offices. Ashley has experience working with children, adults, couples and families. Her approach to therapy focuses on providing unconditional support and advocating that clients take an active role in their goals and treatment.
Alicia Simoni

Alicia works in the Shalom Bayit program, specializing in children and adolescents who have witnessed abuse in the home. She also provides clinical services to adults and adolescents, both individually and in groups, with a concentration on LGBTQ concerns. Her clinical interests also include trauma, military veterans and cross-cultural matters. Alicia received her Master of Art in international peace studies from the University of Notre Dame and her Master of Social Work from Smith College. She completed a clinical internship with Shalom Bayit during her graduate studies and joined the JF&CS staff in October 2013.

Carly is a licensed clinical social worker, earning a bachelor’s degree in social work from Indiana University and a master’s degree in clinical social work from New York University. Carly is an experienced and diverse practitioner, having worked in the mental health, medical and nonprofit sectors of the social work profession. She manages JF&CS’ PAL program, Atlanta’s Jewish Big Brother/Big Sister program, providing mentoring services for children between the ages of 5 and 17, and clinical support to each PAL family. In addition, Carly provides individual, couples, family and group counseling, working with clients from diverse backgrounds and a variety of concerns. She has been with JF&CS since September 2012.

Judy is a licensed clinical social worker who earned her master’s from Wurzweiller School of Social Work and a Master of Science from City University of New York. She came to JF&CS in November 2009 after many years of experience in the school system and in private practice working with adults, adolescents, couples and families. Part of the Shalom Bayit team, she works with women who have experienced domestic violence. She also provides clinical services to adults in the general counseling program. Her interests include trauma, life transitions, parenting and women's issues.
Yael_Stein

Yael graduated with a master’s degree in clinical social work from the University of Cape Town in South Africa and has been at JF&CS since 1986. She is experienced in crisis management, counseling and group therapy and is fluent in Hebrew. She provides clinical services at our Dunwoody and East Cobb locations.
 Lyudmila Trost, PsyD

Lyudmila Trost, PsyD Child & Adolescent  Services

Lyudmila earned her master's in School Psychology and her doctorate in School and Clinical Child Psychology at Yeshiva University's Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology on the Einstein campus in the Bronx. She completed several practica in schools, community mental health clinics, inpatient and outpatient hospitals, and a foster care agency around New York City. She then completed her clinical internship at the APA-Accredited Jefferson County Internship Consortium in Louisville, Kentucky. 
As a postdoctoral fellow, Lyudmila provides comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations assessing strengths and weaknesses in cognitive, academic, and socio-emotional domains in children and adolescents under the supervision of Dr. Lori Wilson. She places great value on learning the family's concerns and hopes for testing. She also values visiting the child's school to complete a school observation and collaborating with teachers and other school personnel. Child feedbacks that are age-appropriate are included as a part of the evaluation process. Lyudmila joined JF&CS in November 2016.
Valerie Van Dam

Valerie has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Bridgeport and a Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. She worked for 18 years in Connecticut in various positions: as a social work clinician, social work supervisor and director of an innovative program for the chronically mentally ill living in the community. Since her move to Georgia in 1991, Valerie has worked in an inpatient psychiatric hospital, at DeKalb Medical Center on the medical/psychiatric unit as a medical social worker and at Emory Hospital Midtown in the family practice program and as a home health social worker. She joined JF&CS in March 2000.
 

Cherise Washington, LMSW Counseling Services

Shalom Bayit Clinician, Counseling Services
Cherise works with the Shalom Bayit program providing counseling services to those affected by domestic violence. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Child & Family Development from the University of Georgia and obtained a master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Florida State University. Cherise has applied her passion for empowering women at a pregnancy center, where she facilitated educational classes to prepare women for childbirth and parenting. She also gained experience in case management and supportive counseling as an intern at the Atlanta VA Medical Center. Cherise joined JF&CS in January 2017, and provides services at the Ben Massel Dental Clinic as well as the Dunwoody campus.
Avrum Weiss

Consulting Clinical Supervisor
Avrum is a psychologist, author and teacher, practicing in Atlanta for more than 25 years. He serves as adjunct faculty in the Department of Psychology at Georgia State University and as director for the Pine River Psychotherapy Training Institute. He is currently the consulting psychologist for JF&CS and has served as a consultant to the Atlanta Catholic Center, the Atlanta Vet Center, the St. Joseph’s Hospital Cancer Center and the Odyssey Family Counseling Center. He has written two books, the most recent of which is Change Happens: When to Try Harder and When to Stop Trying So Hard.
Lori Wilson

Lori A. Wilson, Ph.D. Child & Adolescent Services

Licensed Clinical Psychologist/Pediatric Neuropsychologist

Lori earned her master’s in education and her doctorate in clinical psychology at the University of Virginia. She completed her clinical child internship at the University of Maryland Medical System and a pediatric neuropsychology fellowship at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC. Lori joined JF&CS in June 1999. She provides psychoeducational and neuropsychological evaluations to assess cognitive, academic and socio-emotional strengths and weaknesses in children.

Lori has an extensive background in the areas of attention deficit disorder, autism spectrum disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, learning disabilities, social skills weaknesses, parenting strategies, behavior management and the neuropsychological and emotional effects of medical disorders such as traumatic brain injuries and epilepsy. Although not typically a part of most psychoeducational evaluations, she has emphasized the importance of classroom observations and child feedbacks as part of the evaluation process at JF&CS.
Debbie Young-Arnold

Debbie received her Bachelor of Science in psychology and education from Vassar College in 1987 and her Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, in 1995. She has worked in a wide variety of settings, including residential treatment with children and outpatient community mental health. Before coming to JF&CS as a consultant in 2008, she was employed with Families First for five years. Now on staff with JF&CS, she is also a certified Yoga Kids teacher and trainer.
Ellen Zucrow

Ellen Zucrow, LCSW Counseling Services

Ellen is a licensed and seasoned clinical social worker who graduated from the University of Georgia with a Master of Social Work in 1995. She has worked in many therapeutic settings, including inpatient and outpatient hospital and mental health centers. Ellen enjoys working with varied ages ranging from young adults all the way up to senior citizens. Areas of competence include survivors of suicide, grief and loss, trauma and challenging life transitions. Her areas of expertise also include dealing with complex medical and developmental issues. Ellen has been with JF&CS since June 2005.
