At JF&CS, we aim to promote a healthier and more integrated community by providing spiritual care, comfort and support to Jews throughout Greater Atlanta. Our community chaplain, Rabbi Judith Beiner, regularly visits Jewish patients at Northside, St. Joseph’s, Piedmont, Emory and Emory Midtown as well as other hospitals and health facilities, including hospices, rehabilitation centers, assisted living communities and nursing homes. A group of Bikkur Cholim volunteers augment the chaplain's work with their visits.
Rabbi Beiner communicates with local rabbis about their congregants in health care facilities, conducts indigent burials and provides emergency visits to members of the Jewish community in need. She provides information and referral for JF&CS, support and collaboration with JF&CS clinical staff and outreach to both the Jewish and general communities through trainings and presentations to chaplaincy students, professional staff at area health facilities, synagogue chesed committees and interfaith panels.
Rabbi Beiner has a Rabbinic Ordination and Masters in Hebrew Letters from the Hebrew Union College in New York City. She holds a Master of Arts in Education from the American Jewish University in Los Angeles and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan.
