Atlanta's Working Families Gain Access to Fair-Priced Car Loans

Ways to Work program opens in Atlanta to help families reach work and opportunity

ATLANTA (date) - The national "Ways to Work" car loan program, which has provided affordable car loans to families for more than 20 years, is now available to help working families in Atlanta. Local services are provided through the collaboration of two Atlanta nonprofits: Families First in midtown Atlanta and Jewish Family & Career Services (JF&CS) in Dunwoody. Both locations will provide low-interest loans to qualified working families that helps to buy the reliable transportation they need to remain employed, take their children to daycare, access goods and services, strengthen their self-sufficiency and improve their quality of life.

AJC Names JF&CS A Top Workplace for 2011

A well established organization known as Workplace Dynamics administers high level employee satisfaction surveys on a national level, implemented through the auspices of major market newspapers.  In metropolitan Atlanta, companies were chosen through an exhaustive survey implemented and processed over the past few months, and the Top 100 Paces to Work in Atlanta have been identified, as announced in the Sunday, April 17, 2011 edition of the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Jewish Family & Career Services has earned the honor as one of Atlanta’s Top 100 Places to work.

Grand Opening Photos

On Wednesday, May 10, we celebrated the grand opening and ribbon-cutting of our completed JF&CS campus.

Guests were invited to take tours of the newly enhanced Walter and Frances Bunzl Family Foundation Clinical Services Wing and new IndependenceWORKS building for our Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities services area. Thank you to the generous donors who supported this campaign to complete the campus.

The Giving Garden: First Planting

JF&CS staff & volunteers came together on Wednesday, August 25 to plant the first fall crops in our new organic Giving Garden. They also installed the irrigation system that will keep the garden watered.

JF&CS staff & volunteers came together on Sunday, August 22 to build our new organic Giving Garden. The garden will be planted and maintained by our volunteers and the fruits and vegetables will be harvested and shared with hungry families in need throughout our community.
